It is not easy but after years of struggle, I have managed to re-train my brain to think more positively. Yes it is possible. One easy thing I did years ago was stop watching negative rubbish on TV. This had a dramatic impact on me and I found it much easier to be positive, after I cut this out.
The media can be a good thing but it can also bring us down. I remember when the news used to end on a positive note, regardless of what atrocities had gone on. But now it seems mostly negative.
I can remember when I watched a few programs about Ebola, the media were in uproar over this disease and they warned us, that it could take over the UK. In the end it turned out to be a very small story and thankfully we did not have an outbreak in the UK.
That was really what motivated me to stop watching those programs. I feel programs like that are designed to keep us in a state of high panic and fuel stress. Since then I haven’t looked back.
I have not got a perfect life, but it actually feels perfect. I know that sounds strange but its true. I just don’t entertain stress anymore and I would rather be enjoying life and having fun. Quite often, people feel helpless when stressed. But stress is something we create by are reaction to situations.
If we panic and over react to each situation we can generate more stress for our selves than necessary. By generating more stress you put a strain on your health and leave yourself open to disease. Being calm is a great way to start and end your day and it helps to create a life that feels perfect even if it isn’t because your state of mind is peaceful.
