We are human-beings and we tend to overact in certain situations.  As Mark Twain once said, "courage is not the absence of fear, it is the ability to control it."   One way of learning to stay calm is by thinking about what is really happening vs. what you think is happening.  This approach tends to separate the wheat from the chaff, so to speak.

When faced with panic, take a deep breath. Hold that breath for 3 seconds, release and breath out and repeat.  During anxious moments try to keep perspective. Take a step back observe your surroundings.  This will help you to assess the real dangers, so you can create an action plan.  Distracting yourself is another good way of gripping fear by the unmentionables.  The important fact to remember, is that everything exists on a mental level.  If you conquer your mind, you will conquer your deepest and darkest fears.

This lady is well into her 80's and she looks fantastic.  I believe she only took up weight training in her 60's.  Not everyone wants to sculpt their body in this fashion, but if she is happy (lets leave her to it).  I would rather look like this striking woman, than have an unhealthy diet, that's for sure.  This summer I will be cycling and doing some light weights and of course my Qigong.  These gentle exercises are great for working your internal system and creating excellent communication between the heart. lungs and kidneys.  Qigong helps to relieve stress and boost the body's immune system, ensuring "chi' does not become stagnant.  When Chi flows the body maintains homeostasis.

Shows like Revenge Body with that Kardashian, are all well and good, but life isn't about getting revenge on someone who called you fat 20 years ago.  Its about taking responsibility and taking revenge out on your self, for not looking after your body in the first place.  With the exception of hereditary disease most of our human health issues are self-inflicted.  We live in a society that promotes obesity, laziness and mediocrity .  It's not pleasant but it's true.  You really have to be prepared to do battle with yourself and turn your weaknesses into strengths, in order to succeed.

That doesn't mean subjecting yourself to an abusive celebrity trainer 24-7.  I really don't like seeing  stuff like that.  I feel it is not necessary to treat people like dirt, because they have put on  weight.  They are probably already feeling low to begin with.  To scream abuse at them while they are doing burpees is just insane.

Proper support should be given to these people, so they have the confidence to recover and move on with their life.

Many of us suffer from split nails or dry brittle hair.  The excessive cold weather us Brits have been receiving lately, doesn't exactly help matters.  Severe weather like this can cause problems in these areas, however not eating the right nutrients or malabsorption issues can cause hair loss and poor skin and hair.   Don't throw yourself off the kitchen work top just yet.  These issues can be resolved by healthy diet and supplements.  Eating healthy fats such as avocado and coconut oil can help as well as taking fish oil supplements such as Omega-3.  

Personally I swear by Sea Kelp tablets due to their high nutrient content, they're great for speeding up hair and nail growth, improving skin tone and also increase metabolic rate!  What more could a girl need?
